The Big Rock Teaching Fellows Scholarship, initiated in November 2021, received a significant boost with a generous $200,000 lead gift from the Big Rock Foundation's grant committee, following the 63rd annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in June 2021.

This prestigious scholarship is awarded to one exceptional graduating senior from each of our district's three high schools. It covers tuition and books for two years at Carteret Community College, followed by two years at a university within the UNC system. In exchange, scholarship recipients commit to returning and serving as educators within the Carteret County Public Schools (CCPS) for four years after graduation.

We are proud to announce that Ms. Molly Arnold, a 2022 recipient of the Big Rock Teaching Fellows Scholarship, began teaching in our Carteret County school system this year, showcasing the program's success and the critical importance of supporting future educators.

The Carteret County Public School Foundation is deeply grateful for the continued support of The Big Rock Foundation, which has contributed over $1.4 million to Carteret County schools to date.
